Tacos & Tequila

 Hot Tamale is the northern Australia’s premier Mexican Restaurant and Bar located at the beautiful Darwin Waterfront.


Our cuisine is driven by our head chef, Jamie Steele.  Jamie was part of the highly acclaimed Celsius opening team in Adelaide before being recruited to the iconic Ku De Ta in Bali as chef de cuisine.  He recently returned to Australia after a seven month culinary research journey through Latin America.

We aim serve dishes and flavours that are vibrant, comfortable and familiar to people but made fresh and at a very high standard.  We also want to try to find you different experiences, new ingredients and exciting flavours. We focus on using seasonal products and more secondary and large cuts of protein.
To achieve this we support local suppliers, farmers, fishermen and producers were we can. Wherever possible and cost effective we will be using organic and free range products, including our Beef and seafood suppliers.
These ideas are about supporting our local community, but they also need community support.

Hot Tamale is also home to the Southern Hemispheres largest collection of tequilas and mezcals. A wonderful collection that includes some of the finest tequilas you can purchase. Our cocktail list focuses on highlighting the different variations of tequila mixed perfectly to make beautiful cocktails.
